A leading trading desk is hiring a Commodities Analyst to provide market insights that support trading decisions. The role involves macroeconomic and fundamental analysis, with a focus on Chinese and global commodity markets. You’ll work closely with traders, quants, and technologists to identify opportunities and manage risk.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed macroeconomic and geopolitical analysis across commodity markets (e.g., oil, LNG, coal, base metals)
- Track regulatory and policy developments in China and globally
- Identify and monitor key market catalysts and generate trading ideas
- Monitor supply and demand trends, inventories, shipping flows, and policy shifts
- Build and maintain data models, dashboards, and research tools using Python and SQL
Requirements:
- 3 years of experience in a commodities-focused analytical role
- Strong understanding of Chinese commodity markets and macroeconomic factors
- Proficiency in Python and SQL
- Familiarity with Bloomberg or similar market intelligence platforms
- Fluent in both Mandarin and English
