Data Engineer – Investment Banking | London (Hybrid) | £85,000 - £90,000 + Bonus + Benefits
I’m currently recruiting on behalf of a leading investment bank for a Data Engineer to join their growing Data & Analytics function. This is a great opportunity to be part of a well-established team building cloud-first data solutions that power firm-wide analytics and decision-making.
Working closely with Power BI developers, Business Analysts, and key stakeholders, you'll be instrumental in developing and maintaining high-quality data pipelines, integrating complex data sources, and enhancing the firm’s enterprise data platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build, optimise, and maintain scalable ETL data pipelines to support business reporting and analytics.
- Collaborate with internal teams to translate business needs into robust data products.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of a Cloud Data Lake and Enterprise Data Platform.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve data pipeline performance and data quality.
- Participate in peer code reviews and ensure coding best practices and standards are followed.
- Explore new tools, technologies, and data strategies that could benefit the business.
- Ensure solutions meet regulatory and compliance standards.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong SQL skills, ideally with MS SQL Server (2019+).
- Experience working with Azure data services such as Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Azure Functions, and Azure Fabric.
- Solid knowledge of ETL processes, data warehousing, and data modelling.
- Familiarity with SSIS, SSAS, and supporting semantic models for Power BI.
- Hands-on experience with data formats such as JSON and XML, and working with APIs.
- Working knowledge of .NET and Python.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps), version control (Git), and infrastructure as code (ARM or Terraform).
- Exposure to the Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate) is a plus.
