Senior Data Scientist – Sports Trading
We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to design and implement predictive models and trading strategies within the sports trading markets. This role combines sports domain knowledge with advanced predictive modelling and data analysis, with the goal of creating models that provide a competitive edge in trading.
You will work closely with domain experts and traders to understand problems and translate them into effective models deployed in live markets. The role sits within a flat, collaborative team structure, where your input is valued from day one. You will also be supported by data engineers (to manage and prepare large-scale datasets) and software engineers (to help productionise models and strategies).
Key Responsibilities

Develop and design predictive models for sports outcomes.

Back-test, evaluate, and optimize models.

Collaborate with traders to refine strategies and insights.

Contribute to a fast-moving, dynamic team environment.

Work with modern data science tools and libraries (e.g. Polars, DuckDB, dbt).
Core Skills & Experience

Strong background in mathematics, ideally in probability theory, statistics, or machine learning.

Proven experience building and deploying data-driven models.

Proficiency in Python and modern data science frameworks.

Creativity and curiosity in developing models and strategies.

Passion for sports and understanding of sports rules is a strong plus.
