Senior Front-End Developer – Energy Trading
? £900 per day | Inside IR35 | 6-Month Rolling Contract
? Central London (3 days on-site)
You'll be working on a cutting-edge post-trade platform within the energy trading space – think live intraday PnL, position management, and digitised workflows for one of the most dynamic trading businesses in Europe. It’s a hybrid environment with React or Svelte at the core and AWS powering the infrastructure. You'll work alongside high-calibre devs and tech leads pushing scalable, secure, real-time trading systems.
What you’ll be doing:
- Building UI features for a real-time energy trading platform
- Developing clean, scalable code in React or Svelte (daily hands-on coding)
- Collaborating across dev, cloud, infra and trading desks to shape architecture
- Contributing to the CI/CD pipeline and DevOps best practices
- Delivering secure, high-performing apps that support front office workflows
- Influencing technical design and tooling strategy
What you’ll need:
- 7+ years hands-on front-end experience (React or Svelte essential)
- Recent experience in commodities or financial services trading (essential)
- Strong exposure to AWS (S3, ECS, AppSync preferred)
- Familiarity with REST/GraphQL, Kafka, PostgreSQL or similar
- Comfortable working in Agile squads with a DevOps-first mindset
- Bonus if you can work in Python, but not essential
