Senior Tester / Test SME – Data Migration Project
Investment Banking
Contract £600 per day Inside IR35
London - Hybrid working 2-3 days onsite per week
6 month initial contract with extensions expected
You’ll be joining the Data Office at the start of a greenfield journey.
Shaping and delivering a brand-new data migration testing framework. This is a hands-on role where you’ll design, plan, and execute testing across multiple critical programmes, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data across the bank.
What you’ll be doing in the job:
- 
	
Developing and executing test strategies for data migration projects
 - 
	
Running functional, system, and acceptance testing end-to-end
 - 
	
Validating data lineage, mapping, and transformation rules
 - 
	
Ensuring data quality standards and resolving anomalies
 - 
	
Collaborating with project managers, SMEs, and stakeholders across the bank
 - 
	
Producing reports, defect logs, and documentation for audit and review
 - 
	
Contributing to post-migration reviews and continuous improvement
 
What experience you need to be successful:
- 
	
Extensive experience in data migration testing and execution (Investment Banking or Financial Services preferred)
 - 
	
Hands-on skills with ETL tools (Talend, Informatica, SSIS) and migration tools (AWS DMS, Azure DMS)
 - 
	
Strong SQL and database knowledge (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL)
 - 
	
Familiarity with migration test tools (ETL Validator, Tx tools, Dextrus, Beyond Compare)
 - 
	
Solid grasp of data governance, data quality, and remediation
 - 
	
Ability to manage risks, resolve issues, and guide best practice in a fast-moving environment
