Desktop Engineer – Leading Bank in London - £45,000 - £55,000 + Bonus
Harrington Starr are recruiting for a well-known Bank in Central London who have an exciting Desktop Engineer position open on their European Technology Infrastructure team. Our client has over a trillion in assets and 20million + customers worldwide.
Your role as a Desktop Engineer will be to provide both remote and onsite Infrastructure Support to over 600 users, including VIP’s & Traders across multiple sites.
You will be joining an established team of 4. Ideally, we are looking for someone with prior experience of mentoring and upskilling junior support staff.
Please note this role will require 5 days a week onsite presence in their London office. The shift pattern will be a flexible 8-hour shift between 7am and 7pm, with an out of hours call rota.

Requirements:
- 3-4 years’ experience as a Desktop Engineer.
- Previously worked in a Financial Services/Trading Environment is essential. Trade Floor Support exposure is a big plus.
- Resolution of support calls either via the telephone using remote tools or on-site desktop visit
- Provide Front and Back Office system technical support for trading floor and support function applications including all Reuters products, Bloomberg products, Tradeweb and ICAP apps.
- Knowledge of computer hardware, including laptops, desktops and mobile devices and enterprise desktop applications.
- Leadership qualities to mentor junior members.
- Knowledge of incident ticketing applications e.g. Service Now.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Windows 10 and Office versions 2010 and 2016. Windows 11 experience is a plus.
- Experience with collaboration tools including Webex, MS Teams, Skype, Sharepoint etc
- Strong understanding of trader telephony solutions (e.g. IPC)
